Using the Walking Guides
This page at the moment will be a work in progress as things take shape and may change.
Yes, but to avoid any confusion or copyright issues these are hosted on Ordnance Survey's Getamap website.
Getamap is Ordnance Survey's online access, and in its basic form is FREE to use either as a guest or a logged in user. Each walk has a link at the top to View and print this walking route on the Ordnance Survey Getamap website. Clicking the link from the route will take you to the saved routemap on the OS website which is free to view.
The Getamap website also has a number of premium features such as viewing full screen, printing a map, ordering a custom OS map of an area and making/saving and sharing your own routes. You may decide to subscribe for convenience, or you may just note down the route on your own OS map
I have no interest in advertising their service, it really is up to you. The reason I chose to display the route maps this way is that there is more detail than an outline map, you can zoom in and out, get a satellite view etc and at the basic level it is free. Which walking should always be.
Are there maps of routes described?
